Stepping into Faith

Welcome Beloved of our King and Father,

Around the Pesach season of our King, He urged me to read the book of Joshua intentionally with Him. He said that He’ll take me step by step through the book at His pace.

As I was reading, I would find myself sitting on a chapter for days and on some, even weeks.

Then I came to Joshua chapter 4 and I would read it daily and not get past it. At that time, we were away for the weekend and I remember sitting in the loft of our accommodation overseeing the mountains and I started reading it again with Abba Father and I just sat there in complete awe with what Abba wanted me to grasp. I pray that this revelation from our King means something to you too, dear Reader.

Joshua chapter 4 talks about how Israel walked with the ark of the covenant through the Jordan River and how the path was made even for them to pass through. Joshua chapter 3 explains how they stood in front of the Jordan River and how it opened before them.

Joshua 3:15-17

“Now the Jordan overflows all its banks throughout the harvest season. But as soon as those who were carrying the ark came into the Jordan and the feet of the priests carrying the ark dipped in the edge of the water, the waters which were flowing down from above stood and rose up in one heap, a great distance away at Adam, the town next to Zarethan. What was flowing down to the sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. Yet the priests carrying the ark of the covenant of Adonai stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until the entire nation had finished crossing over the Jordan.”

Just close your eyes for a moment and consider this: you are standing in front of a Jordan river overflowing its banks and you need to pass through it. It seems impossible. As soon as you take a step of faith through the confirmation of the Holy Spirit, and you touch the water, it parts and makes a way for you.

Joshua 4:18

“As soon as the priests who were carrying the ark of the covenant of Adonai came up from the middle of the Jordan and the soles of the feet of the priests were drawn up to the dry ground, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and overflowed all its banks as before.”

Pay attention to how it says as soon as their feet touched the river the water parted and again as soon as the soles of their feet touched the land the water returned.

With all of this, Abba just came and showed me how often we are just seated and thinking about what we need from Him instead of praying to Him and then stepping into faith and trusting Him. We are so relaxed in what we experience and try to seek logical reasons for what we are going through, where we can just go to our all-knowing Creator of the heavens and earth.

I want to encourage you today, to step into what Abba has called you to do. To step into that situation and start walking in victory by the precious blood of the perfect Lamb Yeshua Ha Massiach. Then, we can stand and witness the power of our Father who holds everything in His hands.

Chapter 4 is concluded with verse 23-24:

“For Adonai  your God dried up the waters of Jordan before you until you crossed—just as Adonai your God did to the Sea of Reeds, which He dried up before us until we crossed over— 24 so that all the peoples of the earth may know Adonai’s hand is mighty, and so that you may fear Adonai your God forever.”

Hold fast to the promises of Abba יהוה which is the firm foundation of His word. Just as Abba opened the red sea and the Jordan for His people, He will make a way in your river. Take time and speak to Abba about your situation and have faith that He will work everything together for the good of those who love Him and who were called in accordance with His purpose.

In this week, reflect with Abba on Joshua 3 & 4, let His word nourish your spirit. What an awesome God we praise!

Matthew 8:27

“The disciples were astonished by this miracle and said to one another, “Who is this Man? Even the wind and waves obey his Word.”

Shalom beloved!!
