Dearest Eve
Welcome to the Apple of His Eye blog!
I am excited to journey with you through the Bible as we discover Abba’’s blueprint for His Eves. We will study the essence of what it is to be an Eve (woman of God) by looking at the examples portrayed within the Bible - we will study the characters of the women mentioned in the Bible. This is not a small task and there is much to decipher within the intricate Godly woven being of what it is to be a woman in His Kingdom.
Why the name “Apple of His Eye” you may wonder…
This phrase is of Hebrew origin and is directly translated to “the little man of the eye”. It literally refers to the reflection one sees in the eyes of the one who looks (beholds) you. I feel that Abba “beholds” us, Eves, as a special and unique creation. We were the last to be made! How special is it that Abba, after making the world and everything in it, wanted us as Eves to be part of His Kingdom? Abba’s intention for us, from the beginning, was to be suitable helpers for His Kingdom….
'And יהוה Elohim said, “It is not good for the man to be alone, I am going to make a helper for him, as his counterpart. And from the ground יהוה Elohim formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called each living being, that was its name. So the man gave names to all livestock, and to the birds of the heavens, and to every beast of the field. But for the man there was not found a helper for him, as his counterpart. So יהוה Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept. And He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. And the man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This one is called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of man” - Berĕshith (Genesis) 2:18-23.
“Helper” - a vast task…
We as Eves cannot begin to comprehend what is meant by being a “Helper” for Abba’s Kingdom. The reason therefore is that being or becoming a helper in Abba’s Kingdom is a vast task filled with different roles - companion, caretaker, mother, leader, priestess, judge, warrior, the list gets longer…Each role is intricately designed by Abba. There is not one solid definition for “Helper” in the Kingdom and this leads us as women to often wonder where we ‘fit in’. This is my intention to lead you, dearest Eve, on a journey to look through the eyes of Abba at every woman; her character, her conduct, her flaws and her relationship with Abba to see where we “fit in” to His Kingdom.
The journey begins…
So dearest Eve, let us journey through the Kingdom, learn from the women before us in the Bible and study the blueprints given in Abba’s Word to gain a deeper understanding of our design. May this journey be one where we all grow into our ordained role as “Helpers” in the Kingdom of God and start to value ourselves as the “Apple of His Eye”.
Shalom
Neréne
