A healthy temple

Welcome dearest beloved of the King
Over these last 2 years Abba really started to speak to me about health. What I put on my body, what I put in my body, how I dress, what fabrics I wear etc. He opened the deepness of these things to me. I came to understand that it isn’t merely about the body, rather the fact that we are a temple of Abba. A place for Him to make His stay within us.
After doing the Suiwer challenge with Trunette in 2023, Abba came and changed my eating habits tremendously. He also changed my perspective and renewed my mind about how we see food and how often we fall into bad eating habits due to trauma. Prior to this challenge I really struggled to eat fruit and veggies. I would only eat it if I was forced to. I would never choose to make it myself or ever order it. During this time Abba touched my pallet to eat the food which He created and journeyed with me ever since. Every day He teaches me new healthy habits and opens a deeper level of health to me.
My heart was to make it a lifestyle, not only eat healthy 4 weeks and then fall back into my old ways. I wanted to live a healthy lifestyle that honors and pleases Abba. I believe Abba is truly busy raising up a bride that is fit – spiritually, physically and mentally. We have fallen into a system that ignores the basic things like sunshine, which benefits our health. Something that doesn’t cost us anything and which Abba created. We dress modestly not because we are ashamed, but rather to be adorned from inside by the King of Kings in the honor we give Him.
Last week Abba again gave me these scriptures that realigned my mind to His purpose:
1 Corinthians 6:13 TLV
“Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food”—but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 TLV
“Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Ruach ha-Kodesh who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
The word glorify in verse 20 is the Strong's Number G1392 which matches the Greek word doxazo meaning to render/esteem, make glorious, full of glory, honour, magnify. It is from the word G1391 doxa meaning dignity, praise, worship, honour.
Proverbs 31:25 TLV
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the days to come.”
If she is clothed with strength and dignity, meaning the same as to glorify Abba in body and spirit, this involves what we eat, drink and wear. The purpose of all of us is to live set-apart from the world. Set-apart in the way we look, eat, speak, dress and smell.
1 Corinthians 10:31 TLV
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
What we need to understand clearly is that we are His temple. If we look at the tabernacle in Exodus, Abba had specific instructions as to the measurements, the smell, the show bread, the altar, the lightning, every single detail.
May we walk worthily, nurturing a healthy spirit and a healthy body, reflecting His glory and bringing Him praise, glory and honour.
Proverbs 17:22 AMP
"A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.”
When I read these words again, I wrote the following in my journal:
“I don’t eat healthy for good looks, great skin or to show off. I eat and live healthy because of the expensive price Yeshua paid to give me life and life in abundance. Therefore I tend to my body as a temple, whether it is by anointing, eating, walking and dressing, it is all for His glory. “
Dress in the garment of dignity He has for you, and walk only for His praise.
Shalom!
